ROLLING MILLS

                   The Rolling Mills comprise of the various mills where the products are mainly comprise of finished products which are made by the process of hot rolling. Here different types of rolls are employed for the above purpose. Here the main plant is the Bloom and the Billet mill (B and BM) where the steel ingots produced in the Steel Melting Shop by pouring the hot metal into the ingot moulds. The ingots are stripped from the moulds in the Stripper Bay where the stripping is done by the means of an special Electric Overhead Travel (EOT) Crane with a ram fixed in its hoist to provide the pressure for separating the moulds from the ingots. These ingots are sent into the B and BM. The ingot size is 775×700×2400mm weighing approximately 8 tonnes. The main products of this department are Blooms, Billets, Slabs, Sleeper bars etc.
